Hi Jennifer & Cheryl!

Just wanted to give you a quick update on Natty and her colt Chance. Chance gets bigger and stronger every day. I finally got the vet's ok to turn them out this week, so they've been outside 3 times. There are some pictures and videos on my blog if you're interested. I can't leave them out long because Chance won't lie down to rest outside and his legs get very tired, but Natty has been a dream to catch. I was actually really worried that she would just take off as soon as she got out of the stall the first time, but she was incredibly patient and waited quietly while I pushed and prodded Chance out of the barn behind her. I was also
worried I would not be able to catch her or lead her back inside (since I had this problem a few months back when I was trying to get her used to coming inside), but she has been great. I think she decided she likes living inside, because she comes up to the gate and calls to me when
she's ready to come inside. She leads perfectly back to her stall with no balking, which is great. Chance follows behind her very nicely with a butt rope. This afternoon they were at the far end of the turn-out when I wanted to bring them in, so I just called them and they came thundering up to me (Natty got the Morgan trot but the Belgian gallop - she really does thunder!) ready to come inside.

Chance is incredibly friendly and easy to handle because of (or in spite of?) all his early handling. He is definitely a people-horse, which is great. He had his first hoof-rasping this week and did really well. I was proud of him! I'll keep you posted on his progress as he grows up.

There are some new pictures attached to show you just how beautiful this pair is!
