Dear Jennifer and Cheryl,
What an exciting week we have had here!  First I need to say that your driver was fantastic!  He was knowledgeable, patient and helpful.
We got our mares and baby home and settled pretty easily and we are now settling into a routine.  Chantelle was rehomed to a woman named Tina in Oxford,NC who trains and works with drafts.  She was thrilled to have such a beautiful mare.  She picked her up at the drop site in Staley.  Sandy, renamed Quasar, and Crystal, renamed Eclipse are doing fine.  They are a bit on the shy side.  I have not yet been able to touch Quasar but have touched Eclipse.  I have some help from a trainer friend of mine so they will come around soon, I hope!
The baby is wonderful.  We are working on a name for her.  She is with my older gelding and doing just great.  She follows him around the paddock.  I can touch her and hug her and play with her quite a bit.  A student of mine is playing with the baby in this photo.  I will send one of Eclipse soon!  Quasar below is napping in our version of winter!   Thanks again for all you do for these horses.  I am very glad to have been a part of this.

After many nights of getting up every couple of hours to check on her, she finally had her foal Sat. night, May 24.  We actually knew it was coming that night because she was dripping milk beforehand.  The birth was a bit scary as the foal presented nose first instead of feet first.  Luckily we had a good midwife and she finally got both feet and nose out and then the rest came.  Eclipse really didn't help much though, she didn't do much pushing really so it was quite an experience.  She is being a good mommy and we have a healthy happy colt!
