Hi Jennifer & Cheryl,
Just wanted to give you a little update on my new girl. She is so lovely! She arrived in Calgary March 20, and I got here on March 30 (with the whole moving truck full of stuff). She settled into her new home with no problems. Very quiet and she is so kind. Just a real pleasure to be with.
She is good to lead, loves being brushed, and we are working on teaching her to pick up her feet so I can get the farrier in to tidy them up. (Her feet don't look great right now, but hopefully with regular trimming and care they will improve.)
What else can I tell you? I just love her!!! And she is already something of a celebrity at the barn, on account of her big-ness and the fact that she is rumoured to be in foal. I think she's pregnant, although, admittedly, she doesn't seem that large to be due in 6 weeks. But, she's got a lumpy belly that I can't attribute to anything else. And I think she's bagging up. I'm going to send you a few pictures, including one of her udder (I know, funny!), so if you have any comments that would be great. I am going to have the vet check her, but rather than call him out just for that, I'm waiting for a day when he's at the barn anyway. In the meanwhile, I'm assuming she is pregnant. (And, if not, no worries! I'll just get her started for riding and driving sooner.)
Thank you so much for all the work you put into helping Ismay and the other horses who have found good homes, too. I have been spreading the word about you and sharing your website with people, so I hope this might help some other horses find homes too.
I will send more (better) photos in the next month or so. My mom is a professional photographer and is going to take some good pictures of Ismay and the two of us together. She (my mom) is out of town right now so we have to wait for her to get back.
All the best,
Krista
