Hi Jennifer and Cheryl:

Jim Lyster turned up rather unexpectedly at lunchtime last Friday, November 23rd, and our new buddy came onto the ranch. She is REALLY BIG!!!!

We put her into a corral where the other horses could meet her over the fence before we let her out in the pasture, but by Sunday she evidently thought two days was way enough for that nonsense and JUMPED the gate, though only got her front legs over, so she tore the gate out with her back legs, and bent it really badly, and it ended up in the middle of the pasture, and the gate is trashed, and she has a few cuts and scrapes, but luckily no serious injuries. We were really astonished – this was a 5’ gate and she is a huge horse - she must have had a running start….

Anyway, once she was out in the pasture she and my Clydesdale gelding got going together, I wish I’d had my camera – the two of them cantering around the meadow was a sight to behold. I’ve never seen Bud the Clydesdale move any faster than a slow lazy trot before! I was out there this afternoon and it is clear who now owns the pasture (and it ain’t Bud or any of the quarterhorses or morgans). Some rather chastened little horsies out there now haha.

Thanks for all your help. I sent $50 to your tractor fund. I know that humping poop is hard on the old bod…..
